Warren Wang, Kai Hung, Peter Weng, James Baldwin, Stephen Yeh, Chris Ng, and Makoto Ogasawara went to compete in the 2009 Tokyo International Jiu-jitsu Open held on November 28-29, 2009 in Tokyo, Japan.

Stephen Yeh won his first two matches, (one by a standing RNC, second by points). Peter won his first match with a banana choke, but lost his second match by two points. Kai finally got his first blue belt win in Japan in round one by points and lost his second match by two points. James lost to a clock choke in round one. Warren lost in the first round of his weight division purple-belt category by points and was beat in round one of the absolute division by armbar.

Makoto took first place in his weight category in the brown-belt gi division while Chris Ng got second place his category in the brown-belt division. Makoto also got third place in the brown-belt absolute division.
